The Warrensburg Arts Commission (WAC) is dedicated to a favorable, sustainable and supportive climate for cultural arts in the community. The Warrensburg Art in Public Places (APP) Program was created to promote economic development, increase civic pride and enhance the public environment by integrating high quality artworks in its public buildings and public spaces. The new Art-On-Loan Sculpture Project, through the APP Program, will help to embrace the existing street scape design in the downtown area, complement the city parks and public spaces, and develop a gateway to our community for patrons and visitors.

Exhibition Details

Each artist may enter up to three works. Judging is based on the originality of the piece, its durability and suitability for outdoors, and safety for the public. Applications are due on or before July 1, 2017. After a juried review of the submitted works of art, six finalists and one alternate will be invited to participate. Each artist selected will receive a $750.00 stipend from the Warrensburg Arts Commission. If works are sold, a 15% commission will be withheld for future Public Sculpture Project expenses. Contracts will be executed with the artist/artists and arrangements made for receiving and installing each sculpture. Delivery and pickup of artwork is the artist’s responsibility. Selected artworks will be displayed from September 2017 to September 2018. (See Loan Agreement Document for specifics.)
